In a world that moves quickly, there is something quietly powerful about pausing to capture the connection between a person and their pet. At Copper Crest Photography, that connection is everything. Copper Crest Photography was founded by myself, Nick Allan, a South Somerset based pet photographer covering the South West; it is a brand built on love, patience, and a deep understanding of animals. I pride myself on allowing your pet time to relax into the session so I can capture their true personality.

About the Photographer and Brand

I was born in the vibrant heart of Edinburgh, and now call the rolling countryside of South Somerset home, where I live with my wife and two lively dogs; Border Collie Bailey and Welsh Sheepdog Dylan. We are often found exploring trails across the South West, especially if there is water for the dogs to swim in whatever the season, training for agility competitions, or simply soaking up the quiet joy of life together. These are the moments that have inspired my photography and celebration of life with a beloved pet.

The name Copper Crest is a personal nod to my own copper toned hair. I cannot take full credit for the brand name, as my wife came up with the idea one evening. It is a small detail, but one that reflects the approachable, authentic spirit of the brand.

Specialising in Pet Photography (with a Wild Side)

My main focus is pet photography, capturing the genuine expressions, personalities, and bonds that make each animal unique. Every session is relaxed, playful, and designed to let your pet be themselves, whether that means sprinting through open fields or curling up in their favourite spot. 

In my spare time, I also photograph wildlife and nature, and my passion for the natural world has earned me recognition as a 2025 finalist in the British Wildlife Photography Awards. It was a real honour to reach this stage and has made me more determined to move further into the competition next year.  

I am a proud registered member of the Guild of Photographers, demonstrating my ongoing commitment to professional development and maintaining the highest standards of craft and care.
